Your needs, this model
Does it fit your priorities?
Is an eight-quart single vessel essential?
Yes. The exact 113-0058-01 page lists one eight-quart cooking pot.
Explore this need in the finder →Are step-by-step messages on the cooker display essential?
Yes. The exact V4 product page documents message guidance and 25 recipe presets on the cooker display.
Explore this need in the finder →Must Slow Cook offer a Medium temperature?
No. The exact V4 manual lists Low and High only.
Explore this need in the finder →Does this Slow Cook timer exceed a 24-hour ceiling?
Yes, the R24 manual documents 99 hours 30 minutes. That is the selectable timer limit, not a suggested cook or holding period.
Explore this need in the finder →The Instant Pot Duo Plus WhisperQuiet 8QT (113-0058-01) is the larger-capacity member of the WhisperQuiet Duo Plus configuration. It shares the R24 Slow Cook control routine with the exact 6QT 112-0169-01: a distinct unpressurized Slow Cook program, six named Smart Program choices, a message display and progress bar. The two are not interchangeable sizes of one generic product card. The 8QT has a larger single pot, higher listed wattage and a broader body footprint, so the choice should follow a real vessel and storage need rather than an assumption that extra quart capacity always serves more people well.

The V4 slow-cook plan is the same; the vessel and base are not
The manual shared by the exact 6QT and 8QT pages lists Custom, Chicken, Pasta, Soup, Beef and Beans as Slow Cook Smart Programs. Their default times are four, four, three, six, six and eight hours respectively; all default to High. The control range is 30 minutes to 99 hours 30 minutes, and Low or High can be selected. Medium is not listed. Instant Pot’s manual says High reaches its maximum temperature sooner, Low warms more slowly, and gives minimum recommended times of three hours for High and four for Low. These are the manufacturer’s directions, not independent performance measurements. A 99-hour-30-minute control ceiling is not a sensible recipe target or food-safety holding recommendation.
Keep Warm starts automatically after the timed Slow Cook program unless you turn it off. Delay Start is available for Slow Cook and can be set from 10 minutes up to 24 hours. That delays the start; it does not mean “finish dinner at 6 p.m.” The on-appliance display supplies message instructions and a cooking progress bar, with 25 recipe presets on the product page. A separate Instant Connect recipe app is shown on the page, but the exact SKU evidence does not turn that into a claim of remote appliance control.
More room means more counter space and power
The 113-0058-01 page lists an eight-quart 18/8 stainless-steel inner pot with an anti-spin tri-ply bottom, a stainless steam rack with handles, two extra sealing rings, and a dishwasher-safe pot and lid. The appliance is rated at 1,200 watts, 120 volts and 60 Hz; the matching six-quart V4 page lists 1,000 watts. Closed outside dimensions are 14.53 inches wide, 14.53 long and 13.98 high, compared with 13.35 wide, 13.43 long and 12.76 high for the 6QT. Weight and open-lid clearance are not listed. Before choosing the bigger pot, measure where the base will sit and the room available to handle its lid. The rated pot size is not a guaranteed serving count or a statement that every batch is better in a larger vessel.
The stainless surface is not a nonstick coating. You can use the appliance’s separate Sauté program in the same inner pot before a Slow Cook cycle, but the exact product page and manual do not confirm outside burner or oven use of the loose insert. The manual warns never to place the appliance on a stove or in an oven. Slow Cook itself does not use pressure, yet the instructions show the appliance lid being placed and locked; setup and cleaning therefore involve more parts than an ordinary stoneware cooker with a glass lid.
When to take the 8QT—and when to choose the smaller V4
Pick this exact 8QT when the nominal vessel capacity is essential for a batch you actually prepare and you have enough counter and cabinet space. It suits cooks who also want pressure cooking, Sauté, Steam, Sous Vide, Rice, Yogurt, Cake and Warm in the same base. If a six-quart capacity meets the need, the 112-0169-01 V4 uses the same Slow Cook table in a smaller footprint and at lower listed wattage. If Medium Slow Cook heat matters, compare the separate Duo Plus V3 6QT, which has a 30-minute-to-24-hour range and Low/Medium/High choices instead of the V4’s Low/High-only setting.
The 8QT is a poor fit when storage, lifting or a smaller batch matters more than extra nominal capacity, when you require Medium heat, or when app-based cooking control or direct stovetop use of the removable insert is essential. A dedicated slow cooker may also be the better match if pressure, sauté and the other multicooker modes would add more setup than value. Follow the exact manual for the lid, steam release, cleaning and recipe setup; do not infer that programs for pressure or Sous Vide work like the slow-cook plan.
See the exact manufacturer page for 113-0058-01 and the R24 U.S. Duo Plus manual, which lists both V4 capacities by exact SKU. The shared manual documents their similar slow-cooking routine; the separate product pages establish their different vessel, wattage, dimensions and images.
