A useful fit for

For an earlier-model lookup where a 6.5-quart oval ceramic pot, digital duration entry, High/Low/Simmer modes, timed Warm and a one-quart bakeware rack fit the routine.

The main tradeoff

Timed and no-timer cycles finish differently: only the timed route enters Warm. The exact page does not document delayed start. Weight and lid-open clearance remain unknown.

Your needs, this model

Does it fit your priorities?

Do you need digital duration entry and a 6.5-quart minimum?

Exact PSC-650 documents a 6.5-quart digital cooker with a 24-hour timer in half-hour steps. Capacity is nominal, not a serving guarantee.

The Cuisinart PSC-650 is a six-and-a-half-quart oval slow cooker for someone who wants a digital duration display, selectable High/Low/Simmer modes and a removable ceramic pot. Its timed cycle can be set in half-hour steps up to 24 hours, then the cooker changes to Warm. The most useful ownership detail is the separate no-timer behavior: if you start a heat setting without entering a time, the default 24-hour cook ends with the unit turning off, not switching to Warm.

A long digital timer, with two distinct ways to finish

The exact instruction booklet documents a 00:00-to-24:00 timer in 30-minute increments. After selecting a time and Low, High or Simmer, the cooker enters Warm when that time expires. Its Warm period is adjustable up to eight hours; when that ends, it beeps and switches off. That Warm timer ceiling is an appliance setting, not a safe-holding recommendation. The model has no documented probe or independent thermostat readout for a roast.

If you leave the timer unset, the booklet says the selected High, Low or Simmer mode uses a 24-hour default cook and then turns off. It does not take the timed-program Warm route. That distinction is useful for a user who may want auto-off in the no-timer routine, but it means you should not assume every cycle finishes on Warm. The timer is for cooking duration; the PSC-650 page and booklet do not establish a delayed-start scheduler or a “meal ready at” control.

Room for an oval roast and a smaller dish

The main vessel is a nominal 6.5-quart oval ceramic pot. Cuisinart describes the pot and glass lid as dishwasher-safe. An included cooking rack is intended for smaller bakeware: the exact booklet says it can hold a one-quart soufflé dish. That gives a second use for the single main pot, not a divided insert, a simultaneous second meal or extra quart capacity. The booklet cautions against placing hot ceramic directly on an unprotected counter and says to use a trivet or rack.

The product page lists closed dimensions of 16.34 by 12 by 11.61 inches, but it does not publish empty appliance weight or the height needed to lift the lid fully. If cupboard clearance or a pound-based lifting limit is essential, those values remain unknown. The manual does not establish that the ceramic pot is stovetop- or oven-safe, so a same-pot searing requirement should be answered with a different model whose exact instructions document that function.

What changes with a different requirement

Choose PSC-650 when a digital countdown, larger oval ceramic vessel, timed automatic Warm and small-dish rack are the priorities. It is not the right choice if you need integrated Brown/Sauté or a Steam program; the Cuisinart MSC-600 is a distinct six-quart aluminum-pot multicooker with those two modes. The mechanically controlled CSC-650 is also distinct: its dial-based timer tops out at eight hours, and its manual describes a Low cycle that begins on High until the contents reach 140°F. Do not transfer that heating behavior to the PSC-650 just because both product codes end in 650.

The PSC-650 is a discontinued reference. Cuisinart's exact page showed Out Of Stock when checked, which says nothing about used-unit condition or other retailers. For a secondhand listing, confirm that the code is PSC-650 rather than PSC-350 or CSC-650, inspect the ceramic and glass parts, and verify the touchpad, timer display and included rack. The manufacturer listing supports a three-year limited warranty description, but that does not promise coverage on a used appliance today.

On the evidence available, the PSC-650 offers a clear and adaptable cooking routine, not an invitation to keep food warm indefinitely. Use the selected mode and finish behavior that match your recipe, consult the exact manual for safe preparation and check unlisted fit measurements in person rather than treating the product dimensions as open-lid clearance.
